Open Door Family Medical Center


Lindsay Farrell has served as president and chief executive officer of Open Door Family Medical Center since 1998.  Over the course of her tenure, Open Door has added new sites, programs and technologies to more than double the number of low-income people served.  Farrell began as a volunteer at Open Door, and later served as director of operations, overseeing the center’s initial JCAHO accreditation, and as director of development, responsible for capital fund drives for major facility expansions. 

 

At the request of the Bureau of Primary Health Care, Farrell served as a member of the expert panel initiating the patient visit redesign collaborative directed by the Bureau’s Quality Center. She is a member of the board of directors of the Community Health Care Association of New York State, Hudson Health Plan, HITCH (Health Information Technology for Community Health) and of the Port Chester Council of Community Services.  She served as chair of the Westchester Women’s Agenda. 

 

Farrell is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and earned her MBA from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University.  She is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives.  She received the Betsey Cook Grassroots Advocacy Award from the National Association of Community Health Centers, the Paul Ramos Memorial Award from the Community Health Care Association and New York State, the Sol Feinstone Humanitarian Award from St. Lawrence University and the Alumnae Association Award from the Baldwin School.
